January Prayer Focus

Pray for CPC's expectant mothers and their little ones. http://www.cpcfriends.org
PLEASE PRAY   CPC humbly requests your intentional prayer for:

AFFIRMING GOD’S WORK   Creator God knits us together in the wombs of our mothers. Yet there have been more than 54.5 million abortions since 1973. Pray that our nation will recognize the hand of God Almighty in creation and stop interrupting His work in the womb.

Pray that our churches will affirm the Gospel of Jesus Christ by sharing God’s view on the sacredness of human life and speaking up for the least of the least of these (Matthew 25:40) in our community.

REACHING MORE CLIENTS   Even though we rejoice in South Hampton Roads’ downward trend of abortion numbers, the magnitude of so many innocent lives lost burdens our heart. As we enter a new year, please pray for God’s favor as we seek to reach 2,000 clients in 2013 and share the good news of the Gospel.

Update

Dear Friends,

I wanted to update you regarding the email I sent out Wednesday. In that email I shared CPC's recent financial challenge and our hope to make up for the $150,000 shortfall in meeting ministry expenses.

As of today, more than $13,000 in gifts have been given to CPC. Wow! God is moving in the hearts of people. Several people even visited our office to drop off their gifts. This is very encouraging! We are so grateful for this outpouring of support.

If you would like to help and receive a tax deduction on your gift for this year, you can donate online at www.cpcfriends.org. Also, if you send a gift through the mail postmarked on or before December 31st, that gift will be acknowledged for this current year (mailing address here).

Thank you for your prayers and support!

P.S. Here's a recent video of testimonies from some of the women we have served. God has moved in their hearts, too!

Two Records...

Dear Friends,

Two things have happened this year that have never happened before in the history of this ministry.

First, we have served more women this year than any prior year in our ministry’s existence.  With several weeks left in this year (as of this writing), we have served over 1,760 women.

This represents thousands of hours of crisis counseling, ultrasound exams, Gospel sharing, and being a voice for those who have no voice. It also represents lives saved and hearts spared from abortion.  Praise God!

Unfortunately, another record has been broken this year.  Never before in the history of this ministry have we ever faced a financial deficit the size of the one we face today.  As we end the year, donations have fallen short of ministry expenses by approximately $150,000.

This deficit represents a very significant and urgent challenge for CPC.  We are hoping and praying to see this deficit reduced as much as possible (or completely… bold prayers!) before the end of this year.

I know $150,000 seems overwhelming.  Some people would be tempted not to give because they may think they could not give enough to make a difference.  However, every donation counts.  Please help us reduce this deficit by sending a gift today.

Although we are helping a record number of women, there are thousands each year who are not served by our pregnancy medical clinics and resource centers.  They choose abortion and miss an opportunity to experience the Gospel in a tangible way though our centers.  We hope and pray that we will not have to make any cuts that will jeopardize reaching more women in 2013.

Please help us eliminate this deficit before year’s end.  Again, anything you can do to help today is needed and much appreciated.

Blessings,

Toby DeBause

P.S. Gifts postmarked or received by December 31 are tax deductible for 2012. Feel free to give online by going to www.cpcfriends.org and selecting the donate button.

Now on Facebook: Bidding Has Begun!

Online Art Auction Fundraiser on Facebook

For those unable to attend Sovereign Grace Church’s Annual Art Auction Fundraiser earlier this month, we’re thrilled to share an additional opportunity to affirm life through art!  The three original paintings presented in this online gallery are now available for bidding through a week-long silent auction on Facebook.
To bid on a painting, send us a Facebook Private Message with your contact information, the painting name and your bid amount.  Check daily to see if the bids have changed so you can update your bid!

Please bid generously.  Crisis Pregnancy Center of Tidewater is here to serve and support women and families in our community who are unprepared for pregnancy.  By agreeing to pay the amount you place as a bid, you are supporting a local ministry dedicated to promoting and protecting the inherent value of human LIFE!  Bids will be updated in the photo comments each day in the morning, mid-day and evening.  Bidding ends at midnight on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, and the winning bids will be displayed on Thursday, December 20, 2012.  Winners will be contacted by the information they have provided in regards to paying their bid and collecting their art.
If you would like to support the mission of CPC with a tax-deductible financial gift, please visit www.cpcfriends.org.

Stepping Out

The statistics are staggering.

More than 1.2 million pre-born children lose their lives to abortion each year, including 7,603 in South Hampton Roads in 2011. More black Americans are killed by abortion than all other causes of death combined. And perhaps most alarming – 73 percent of women having an abortion report a religious affiliation.

Lifting up LIFE in our Community

Crisis Pregnancy Center of Tidewater would like to partner with local churches to impact lives together. In addition to making free life-affirming resources available to pastors, we’d like to encourage you to become a catalyst for change.

As we prepare to honor life in January for Sanctity of Human Life Month, would you consider stepping out in a new way? Maybe God is calling your family to fill a LifeChange baby bottle for the first time. Or maybe your weekly Bible study group is ready to dig into a discussion about life issues. Or is now the time for you to receive healing and hope from a past abortion?

Author Eric Geiger shares on his blog,

“In your church, people have been affected by abortion. Some studies say that 5.6 million evangelical Christian women have had an abortion. That means 1 out of 6 women you look at on a Sunday morning have been through this experience. Many are plagued with pain and regret and desperately need the all-encompassing forgiveness of the Lord applied to their hearts.”

Read his blog in its entirety at http://ericgeiger.com/2012/11/the-sanctity-of-human-life/

It’s not too late to get involved.  You and your church leadership can connect with CPC and find a special way to share your conviction for LIFE.

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them!  Psalm 139:13-17 NIV

Art Turned Into LIFE

Sovereign Grace Church's Second Annual Art Auction Fundraiser
Last year, Crisis Pregnancy Center of Tidewater was blown away by the support of Sovereign Grace Church and our community at the first annual Art Auction Fundraiser. This year’s event continued to exceed all expectations.

We would like to extend a special thanks to Nate Bauers and Sovereign Grace Church’s Access group for their deep passion for life and commitment to excellence. With their encouragement, local artists donated more than 200 pieces of art – all to lift up LIFE.  Nearly 300 individuals joined in the beautiful evening, and many walked away with one-of-a-kind masterpieces that now serve as sweet reminders of mothers who choose LIFE for their pre-born babies.

If you would still like to contribute to CPC by acquiring a work of art, watch our Facebook page next week for more details!

'Back To The Wild'

Back To The Wild - Friday, December 7, 2012 - Animal Planet Discovery ChannelThe Christopher Johnson McCandless Memorial Foundation, or “Chris’s Purpose," was created by two loving parents with a desire to honor their son’s life by helping mothers in need.

On Friday, December 7, tune in to Animal Planet Discovery Channel at 10 p.m. EST to learn more about a new book - “Back To The Wild” - that shares Chris’s touching story through his own photography from his adventurous journey to Alaska.

'Every good and perfect gift is from above'

Merry Christmas from CPC of Tidewater
Dear Friends,

We have 493 more reasons to celebrate this Christmas season!

There are more, but so far this year we know of at least 493 pre-born children who will have the opportunity to be born because of God’s work in the hearts of their mothers through one of The Keim Centers (CPC’s pregnancy medical clinics and resource centers).

Some of the mothers of these children were at one time considering abortion before visiting one of The Keim Centers. For others, the fathers, and even some grandparents, were pushing the mothers towards aborting their child. But in the end, after being lifted up throughout our centers, LIFE prevailed.

This is great Christmas news! Praise God for His intervention in the hearts of these women and their families. It has been a remarkable year. We are so grateful for every life saved and every mom who found refuge and hope in this ministry. I hope this encourages you as we celebrate God’s greatest intervention for all of us, His son, Jesus Christ.

Please continue to pray for CPC. We are ministering to a record number of women now and are on track to serve more than 2,000 women next year. We know that as we reach more women, more people hear and respond to the Gospel, more lives are saved and more hearts are spared from the tragedy of abortion.

May God bless you and your family as you enjoy this season of celebrating our Savior’s birth!

Lifting up LIFE with you,

Toby DeBause
President

In this season of giving, please remember CPC. We are facing a significant budget deficit as we end this year. The need is immediate, and if not met could greatly diminish the impact of ministry in the New Year. Gifts donated online or postmarked by December 31 are tax deductible for 2012. Thank you!
