For the Sake of Dyno!

Recently, a 5 year old boy from London thought his week old puppy needed a bath. So, he placed him in the toilet and flushed for a thorough cleaning. Unfortunately, the puppy was flushed down the toilet.

After the fire department and animal welfare officers arrived, they quickly alerted the neighbors of the puppy’s plight and requested that they not flush their own toilets or use any drains. They worked diligently for several hours to find and rescue the puppy.

Eventually, plumbers were called to the scene and they discovered the puppy via video about 65 feet down the sewer line. The boy’s mother became concerned about the costs of the rescue, but the plumbers assured her that they were donating their services. Soon after they discovered the puppy, he was rescued with no injury.

The family named the puppy Dyno to honor the rescuers, Dyno Rod Plumbers.

What a great story of a community coming together regardless of the inconvenience and costs in order to save one helpless puppy. Imagine what would happen if our community provided the same level of intervention for pre-born children in Hampton Roads. Certainly, there would no longer be almost 9,000 of these children losing their lives to abortion each and every year. Now, that would be a greater story!

For Life with you,

Help Stop the Abortion Mandate!

While Congress is debating health care reform, our concerns are deepening regarding the negative impact it may have on pregnancy center ministries. The major health care proposal (H.R. 3200) currently being discussed in Congress includes many dangerous provisions that would further advance the culture of death in America. If enacted, it would result in the largest expansion of abortion since Roe v. Wade by mandating taxpayer funded abortion coverage in every health plan and therefore greatly increasing the abortion rate. This is one of many concerns which we will continue to keep you updated on as this debate continues in Congress.

Toby's new “Choose Life” license plates from the DMV

Hey Life-Lovers! I just got my new "Choose Life" license plates from the DMV!!

I popped them on my jeep and now I’m proudly making a statement for Life and supporting CPC’s all across Virginia.

After the DMV sells 1,000 plates, a portion of the sales from “Choose Life” plates will be put into a fund that will be given to pregnancy centers in Virginia. The Crisis Pregnancy Center of Tidewater is one of those centers!!

Get more information on how you can get your own “Choose Life” tags by clicking on the picture of my jeep.

The first person to make a comment on this blog revealing the meaning of my personalized tags gets a free LIFE bumper sticker and the book: Why Pro-Life by Randy Alcorn.

Cruisin’ for Life,

Toby

CPC is proud to announce that Jill Stanek will be the keynote speaker at our Annual Benefit Banquet.

Jill Stanek is a nationally renowned speaker, columnist and blogger. She has been featured on the O’Reilly Factor, Focus on the Family, Chuck Colson's Breakpoint, Dr. Laura, USA Today, and the Washington Times to name a few media outlets.

When it would have been easier to look the other way, Jill Stanek's commitment to Christ led her to risk her job, reputation, and friendships after witnessing horrible atrocities at the hospital where she worked as a registered nurse.

You will not want to miss Jill’s remarkable story at this year’s Benefit Banquet. It is a powerful, riveting, and unbelievable (but true) account of one woman standing up for those who are helpless.

Mark your calendars for CPC’s Annual Benefit Banquet on October 27th, 2009. More information on the way!

IT'S FINALLY HERE!!

The Commonwealth of Virginia issues over 200 different special license plate tags from wildflowers to your favorite college football teams. Why not a plate that expresses the value of human life with the words, "Choose Life"? As of July 2nd you can do just that and at the same time help CPC. After the first 1,000 plates have been distributed $15.00 of the $25.00 fee will go to the Crisis Pregnancy Centers throughout Virginia. Walk For Life 2009!!

Our "Walk for Life" this year was awesome. We had more people than ever come and stand up for moms and their little ones. Because of your efforts we were able to raise more money than last year even in this down economy (just by a little bit). Praise God for His provision and for all of you that faithfully supported this year's Walk For Life.

If you would like to see some great photos of the event click here. Special "thanks" to Tracey Sanders for donating her services again this year. Please check out Tracey's incredible work at traceysandersphotography.com.
