Volunteer Spotlight: Dianne Myrick

·         Receptionist, Nurse and “plant lover”

Dianne Myrick has a passion and love for CPC’s ministry that is evident in her amazing commitment and willingness to go above and beyond. Although she is a nurse and runs pregnancy tests in several of the centers, Dianne really shines at the front desk – answering the phone and staying calm even when she has a difficult call. She works quietly and efficiently making labels, filing folders and anything else that is required to keep the front office running smoothly. Dianne has repeatedly stepped up when there is a need and ministers faithfully in her own quiet, humble, gentle way – armed with a quick smile and great sense of humor. Thank you, Dianne, for the joy you bring to our Lord through this ministry!

April Prayer Focus

PLEASE PRAY   CPC humbly requests your intentional prayer for:

2012 WALK FOR LIFE   We are praying for 1,000 individuals to partner with CPC’s ministry as sponsored walkers during this year’s Walk for Life. As the Love Revolution continues to grow, we boldly ask for more sponsored walkers to raise funds to save more lives from the tragedy of abortion.

CLIENT OUTREACH   Please pray for God to bless our efforts to reach women facing a crisis pregnancy. Our prayer is for women to connect with CPC as we continue to invest time and resources in online and mobile phone marketing. 

NEW LIFE   As the new life of spring surrounds us, it is a beautiful reminder to continually pray for mothers with new life growing inside of them. Pray that as the good news of the gospel is presented to them, the promise of eternal new life found in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be received.

Volunteer Spotlight: Gail Watkins

Since 2008, Gail Watkins has demonstrated her committed service to CPC’s ministry and the Suffolk community through her involvement in the Great Expectations (GE) parenting class program. Gail often goes above and beyond the call of duty, filling a void in our ministry when no one else was able. “Grandma Gail,” as clients affectionately call her, builds strong rapport with those who attend GE classes, which builds faithful attendance.

In her own words, “Most of the girls have a hard time believing you would be willing to do something for them just because you care about them. It’s a novel experience for them and an opportunity for us to lead right into a conversation about how salvation is a no-strings-attached gift from God, through Jesus Christ!”

October Prayer Focus

PLEASE PRAY   CPC humbly requests your intentional prayer for:

GREAT EXPECTATIONS   Great Expectations, our educational pregnancy and prenatal classes, are one way we share the Gospel and reach clients with practical help. Please pray for additional volunteer instructors for Norfolk and Portsmouth. Also pray for more dads to attend.

ANNUAL BENEFIT BANQUET   Our Annual Benefit Banquet is our largest fundraiser each year. Please pray:

• for Sponsors and Table Hosts as they invite others to attend.

• that CPC’s support goals would be met.

• that God would use the Annual Benefit Banquet to open more hearts to the life-saving, heart-sparing ministry of CPC.

CALL CENTER VOLUNTEERS   In 2010, the call center answered more than 4,000 helpline calls. Call center volunteers are warm, welcoming women who are well trained to serve on the front lines of this ministry. Please pray for volunteers to step forward and commit to serving a weekly shift in the call center. Four additional volunteers are needed immediately.

August Prayer Focus

PLEASE PRAY   CPC humbly requests your intentional prayer for:

CPC FAMILIES   Please pray for three staff families as they were recently touched by the home-going of a loved one. Pray that the God of peace, comfort and compassion bless these families with His presence. Please also pray for several additional staff family members who have been struggling with health issues.

LIFE DECISIONS   Pray for our clients who choose to carry their baby to term. After they’ve made the decision, given birth and begun “real life with a baby,” these moms are often overwhelmed, under equipped and stressed. They need our support and prayers.

ESTABLISHING NEW CLINIC   Please pray for our medical clinics to expand our ministry’s reach, especially our new clinic in Virginia Beach. We pray that more women will find the new location and that even more lives will be saved and hearts spared as a result of offering medical services at no cost to the patient, like life-affirming ultrasound.

PROTECTION   The spiritual battle continues to rage. Please pray for more protection for CPC’s ministry. As our new medical clinic provides additional opportunities to reach more women, save more lives and spare more hearts, we ask for God to show Himself mighty. Pray for His favor and mercy to continue blessing this ministry’s growth.

CLIENT OUTREACH   In everything we do, our goal is to reach clients where they are and provide assistance as they make difficult decisions surrounding an unplanned pregnancy. Please pray as we seek to connect with more women and families in South Hampton Roads.

June Prayer Focus

PLEASE PRAY   CPC humbly requests that you pray for the following:

NEW MEDICAL CLINIC IN VIRGINIA BEACH   In the next few weeks, we plan to move into the new medical clinic in Virginia Beach. Please keep this transition in prayer. Pray for our entire staff as we work together to open this new medical clinic so we are able to minister to more clients.

HEALING   Our volunteers become family. They join with us in ministry and give out of the abundance of their heart. They faithfully invest in the lives of women in crisis while many times they are going through incredibly difficult times as well. Please pray for two of our volunteers who have sons battling for life. Join us as we ask the Lord for His perfect healing, comfort and peace for these families.

FIRST-TIME FATHERS   Please pray for our clients who are celebrating their first Father’s Day. We pray for these dads to have strength and commitment in raising their new babies. Pray for more dads to attend the Great Expectations parenting class and make decisions for Christ.
