October Prayer Focus

Please pray for Crisis Pregnancy Center of Tidewater
PLEASE PRAY   CPC humbly requests your intentional prayer for:

STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS   Several of CPC’s staff and volunteers are currently facing health issues and crises. Please pray for our Heavenly Father to strengthen their faith, comfort their fears and wrap them in His unfailing love during these difficult times.

CLIENT OUTREACH   Please pray for truth to shine brightly as we seek new opportunities to reach more women contemplating abortion. People who oppose pregnancy center ministry want to tarnish our reputation, but we pray for potential clients to overlook this deceit and turn to our medical clinics and resource centers as an outpouring of the hope and love found in the good news of the Gospel.

ANNUAL BENEFIT BANQUET   As one of the most important events of our year approaches, please pray for God to be glorified, LIFE to be lifted up, and much-needed financial resources to be provided to further His work through the ministry of CPC.

PRAY FOR CPC’S EXPECTANT MOTHERS AND THEIR LITTLE ONES.   Their names* and due dates are listed below.

*Some of the names have been changed to protect the identities of our clients.

Not A Passive Request

We are praying for radical changes of heart!

"But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you..." Matthew 5:44

Praying for our enemies was a radical message when Jesus instructed his disciples, and it can still feel revolutionary today.

Life is precious, but under attack. We need to join forces in prayer. It's time to push darkness to the foot of the cross.

This is not a passive request - we are not called to let the opposition take advantage or walk all over us. And thanks to Jesus' death and resurrection, we are also not here to pursue revenge.

By lifting our enemies to the Lord, we are empowered to envision the glory of God restored in them. Just imagine if every abortion provider would cease ending the innocent lives of preborn children!

We begin gathering to pray for LIFE today at noon and end tomorrow at noon - we look forward to seeing you!

Preparing Our Hearts

We are getting low.
"Water always fills the lowest places first. The lower ... a man lies before God, the speedier and the fuller the inflow of the divine glory will be." Andrew Murray

As we seek true revival - a renewed passion for the very value of LIFE - we need to join forces and humble ourselves in prayer before our Heavenly Father.

Prayer is our gracious invitation to access the very presence of God. In this act of obedience, we "clothe ourselves in humility" (Colossians 3:12) and submit - placing our hearts under the authority of God's purposes and His plan.

Life is precious, but under attack. It's time to push darkness to the foot of the cross.

There are just a few days left to spread the word about this powerful time with our Creator. Learn more at www.cpcfriends.org/prayer.

Real Life: LaRoyce's Story

Real Life: LaRoyce and Brielle
LaRoyce and William had two beautiful children, but they were overwhelmed by the thought of having another baby. So overwhelmed they thought abortion might be their best option.

“Before I visited The Keim Center, I was contemplating having an abortion,” LaRoyce said. “I knew abortions were wrong and inhumane, but I couldn’t imagine myself being able to financially take care of a child. William had lost his job and I was trying to finish school.”

“And that was my first mistake right there,” LaRoyce recalled, “being a woman of God and doubting His plans. To be honest, I thought The Keim Center was an abortion clinic assistance program. As I talked with [my advocate] about what they did and what they stood for, all I could do was cry. God was speaking to my spirit about the abortion. [My advocate] started to pray for me and William, and it felt like weights were lifted.”

Then LIFE was revealed!

When I saw my baby on the ultrasound, I knew that everything would work out and God would not leave or forsake me,” LaRoyce shared. “All of my feelings of doubt, fear, depression and shame went away. I felt so comfortable and at home. [My advocate] told me about attending classes to get help with items for the baby and to pray when I felt unsure. I will never forget how The Keim Center changed my life.”

“I’m thankful for God placing this organization in my life,” LaRoyce said. “Words cannot express the amount of prayer and concern [my advocate] has had for me, and I love her for it. I plan to continue to give back and to ask God to help me to walk the righteous path intended for my family.”

Real Life: William, LaRoyce, Brian, Brionna and Brielle
Please keep LaRoyce and her family in prayer. She is currently taking classes to complete her master’s degree as well as preparing to marry William in February 2014. Watch for more of their story in the 2013 client testimony video debuted at CPC’s Annual Benefit Banquet!

Letter From The President

Toby DeBause, President of Crisis Pregnancy Center of Tidewater
Dear friends,

As more women choose life in our clinics and resource centers, we are experiencing growth in our Great Expectations (GE) program. GE is a series of weekly pregnancy and parenting classes that help prepare both mothers and fathers for parenthood.

GE participants earn “baby bucks” which they can redeem for necessary tangible resources including diapers, baby wash, maternity clothes, strollers, etc. I’ve heard moms say everything they received for their newborns came from this ministry. It’s really not much by today’s standards, but it means everything to these new parents.

Each GE session also includes a biblically-based devotional introducing them to the author of LIFE, Jesus Christ. As felt needs are met and relationships are strengthened, the seed of the Gospel blossoms. Recently, nine fathers in our GE program made first-time commitments to Christ!

God is obviously at work in GE, and this is challenging us to invest more in this part of the ministry. Although no one likes to expand an already tight budget, we cannot walk away from the harvest. So, we stepped a little further out in faith this summer by adding a Programs Manager position to the CPC staff. In the past, GE was one of too many other duties under the supervision of another staff member. Now the Programs Manager can bring much-needed and long-awaited leadership and support to GE.

Chandra Mennefee, who was already on our development team, has transitioned into this new role of Programs Manager. In addition to the support Chandra will provide to GE, she will also lead CPC’s Abortion Recovery Ministry. Please be praying for Chandra as she settles into her new position.

It is easier to step out in faith when our faith rests in God. He is awesome and moving through this ministry! As you read the fall 2013 newsletter, you will see the many ways the Lord is working through people to be HIS hands and feet in the ministry. I hope you will be encouraged by these stories and motivated to partner with us in His work.

For LIFE with you,

Toby DeBause, President

A Huge Blessing

Dear Friends,

September 1st has passed, but we still haven't met the goal of having 100% of the expenses for CPC's Annual Benefit Banquet covered. Thankfully, a generous donor has agreed to a dollar-for-dollar $10,000 match to help close the gap!

Double your underwriting gift now!

Please help CPC take advantage of this generous opportunity.

This year, we're expecting many of the banquet guests will be hearing about the ministry of CPC for the first time. There's a possibility for hundreds of additional people to join us in defending LIFE! Just imagine if they knew every dollar they were able to give would go directly to the ministry of saving lives and sparing hearts!

By honoring the heart of this generous donor, your underwriting investment multiplies into an even larger blessing. Visit www.cpcfriends.org/banquet or call 757.410.9703 to help reach this goal.

Thank you for your love and support of CPC, and for prayerfully considering how you can help.

For LIFE with you,

Toby DeBause
President
