May Prayer Focus

CPC humbly requests your intentional prayer
PLEASE PRAY   CPC humbly requests your intentional prayer for:

COURAGE IN MOTHERHOOD   Please pray for our Heavenly Father to embolden women to embrace their important role of motherhood. Pray for God to fill their hearts with courage and grace to accept the person He has made them to be and protect the life He has created inside of them.

ABORTION RECOVERY   Many post-abortive women and men live with guilt, fear and shame, and Mother’s Day can be a difficult reminder of a past abortion experience. Pray for men and women who are suffering in silence, that they plug in to one of our abortion recovery small groups. Thanks to God’s abundant grace and mercy through the ultimate sacrifice of His son, Jesus Christ, we can ALL find healing and forgiveness at the foot of the cross.

PRAY FOR CPC’S EXPECTANT MOTHERS AND THEIR LITTLE ONES.   Their names* and due dates are listed below.

Volunteer Spotlight: Tori Fox

Tori Fox, CPC's volunteer spotlight
• Volunteer since 2012
• Serves in Norfolk and Virginia Beach as Registered Nurse
• Attends Trinity Presbyterian Church

Tori Fox has a background in emergency room nursing, and she brings that love for a challenge with her to our medical clinics. She also loves Jesus and is obedient to His call. Anyone who meets Tori becomes a friend because of her warm, upbeat personality. She’s eager to learn and serve with flexibility, even when it’s not convenient for her. She’s taken on the challenge of carrying her own patient load in the medical clinics (the first volunteer nurse to handle this role in YEARS!) and has also served as the ministry’s medical presence for several outreach efforts. Tori doesn’t just “fill in,” she’s part of The Keim Centers’ medical team and we are so blessed to have her volunteering with us!

It's a powerful moment...

Just 11 weeks after conception,
a baby is able to suck her thumb.
...when a mom sees her baby for the first time.

Ultrasound technology allows us to glimpse into "the secret place" (Psalm 139:15) and see the miracle of creation inside the womb.

In Virginia, a 2012 ruling requires an abdominal ultrasound prior to abortion, which CPC's medical clinics provide at no cost to the patient! Currently no Virginia abortion providers offer this service for free.

Help more moms see their precious little ones!

It's not too late to help! The funds raised through CPC's Walk for Life help provide the critical support needed to maintain CPC's medical clinics in Norfolk and Virginia Beach as well as the satellite resource centers in Portsmouth and Suffolk.

If you know someone who wants to get involved in this life-affirming ministry, send them to this blog! Then encourage them to visit www.cpcfriends.org/walk to get started raising funds to SAVE LIVES today.

Walk for Life Tip: Facebook Success!

Make it easy on Facebook.

Facebook and other social networks are great ways to let people know you're Walking for Life, but most people only get a few "likes" or some positive comments.

Try this:
  1. Instead of just posting a link to your fundraising page, ask your friends to message you their mailing address and the amount of their pledge.
  2. Then, log in to your fundraising page and manually enter their contact information and pledge online.
  3. CPC will mail them a statement in May.
The same approach works for emailing, and texting, too!

A personal invitation from you to support this great cause has tremendous value - it doesn't have to be difficult! The funds you raise can make a powerful impact on women and pre-born babies in our community.

Thank you again for all you're doing to help save lives, spare hearts and further the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Continuing a Legacy

Christ-follower. LIFEkeeper. Servant. Friend.

Everyone who knew Marvin Souther knew of his deep passion for LIFE. His love for pre-born children and their families was obvious, and his dedication to raise funds for the ministry of CPC was evidenced through his repeated induction into the Walk for Life President's Club.

In honor of her late husband, Claudia Souther is continuing Marvin's legacy this year as a fundraising walker. You can, too!

Continue a Legacy with Your Loved Ones

During the Easter season we reflect on the ultimate gift of love - Jesus Christ's death and resurrection. As you gather to celebrate our risen Savior this weekend, consider asking your family and friends to join you in sharing His love by lifting up LIFE.

Like Claudia, you can continue a loved one's enthusiasm for LIFE by raising funds in their honor. Saving lives, sparing hearts and furthering the Gospel - what a legacy! Email Wendy to let us know who you are honoring!

I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10b

He was revived!

Mecca and Emmanuel
Mecca credits prayer for saving her son’s life.

After visiting CPC’s Keim Center in the midst of a crisis pregnancy, Mecca made a prayerful choice for LIFE and decided to bring her little one into the world. Months later, she would again cry out to Jesus for her baby.

When little Emmanuel was born, he was not breathing because the umbilical cord had wrapped around his neck – asphyxiating him. Although she felt helpless at that moment, Mecca knew she wasn’t alone. By taking parenting classes at one of CPC’s Keim Centers, she learned the importance of prayer.

Mecca prayed for Emmanuel, and he was revived!

As Emmanuel recovered, Mecca continued to draw on the things she learned at CPC’s Keim Center. Mecca said, “I now knew why I was drawn to [The] Keim [Centers]. All the things that I learned there were to prepare me for what was to come. It was what I learned in those classes that gave me the courage to reach my hand in his crib while in ICU and speak life into him.”

Mecca is so grateful for the help she received from CPC through its Keim Centers that she wants to share her story boldly. She and Emmanuel will be joining us for CPC’s Walk for LIFE next month! Mecca is a fundraising walker because she wants other women like her to receive the love and support she received through our pregnancy center ministry.

I hope you consider following Mecca’s lead and participate in one of our three Walk for Life events as a fundraising walker. This is one of CPC’s largest annual fundraisers. We do not receive any government funding and we depend on the giving hearts of people like you to be able to reach out to the thousands of women we serve each year. It’s not too late for you to take part. You can register online at cpcfriends.org/walk.

If you can’t Walk for Life this year, please consider supporting Mecca and Emmanuel as they walk. This would be a huge encouragement to her and to the ministry of CPC. You can donate to Mecca by placing your gift in the envelope provided or you can go to Mecca’s Walk for Life webpage at walkforlife.cpcfriends.org/mecca. There, you can give an online donation or make a pledge to be paid at a later date. You can also send a personal message to Mecca. I know it would be a tremendous blessing for her to hear from you.

Thank you for supporting CPC! Mecca and her son, Emmanuel, represent thousands of women and children helped by this ministry. We are grateful for you!

Walking to save lives and spare hearts,
Toby DeBause, President of Crisis Pregnancy Center of Tidewater

Hope and Healing

Ben Riendeau
Ben Riendeau has a special connection to the ministry of CPC. As a men’s abortion recovery ministry small group facilitator, Ben understands the complex emotions that surround an abortion experience.

“[Through the small group], I could explain my feelings to someone who understood. I would still be holding on to lingering feelings of guilt if I never attended a group. I would still be dealing with this scar on my life with no way to heal it.”

If you know someone looking for hope and healing after an abortion, please email arm@keimcenters.com. Small groups for men and women are ongoing.
